Support Group

What is a Cancer Support Group?

The Rocky Mountain Oncology cancer support group offers a safe, confidential environment to connect with others who are facing similar challenges associated with cancer care. The group, which is facilitated by a licensed counselor, utilizes empathy, compassion and even humor to help discuss the issues.

What are the benefits of participating in a Support Group?

People entering the complex world of cancer care face challenges that can leave them feeling overwhelmed, afraid and alone. Sometimes talking to even the most supportive family members and friends may be difficult. A support group can help provide the emotional strength and support to help our patients live with cancer.

  • Connect with others  who have also been diagnosed with cancer
  • Talk about  emotional needs and feelings related to cancer
  • Share ideas about  managing treatment-related side effects
  • Discuss ways in  which cancer has affected personal relationship
  • Learn how to  communicate about cancer
  • Discuss and embrace  survivorship

Is there are charge to participate in a support group?
