Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

What is SRS?

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is a revolutionary technology used to treat both intracranial (inside the skull) and extracranial (outside the skull/ in the body) tumors by delivering a potent, highly focused dose of radiation to the tumor(s) while sparing the surrounding normal tissues. This ultra precise way of delivering radiation offers an alternative for patients who are not surgical candidates. Higher doses focused on the target enhance tumor control while increasing the ability to eliminate the cancer. SRS delivers a larger, ablative dose, accomplishing treatment in as little as 1-5 days as compared to the standard 6-8 weeks of traditional therapy.
